- Flow Central is seeking a Scrum Master to help an agile scrum team deliver effectively against business and technical priorities.
- This role is focused on enabling strong team execution, improving delivery predictability, and removing obstacles that slow progress.
- The ideal candidate is a strong agile practitioner who can work independently, lead effective team ceremonies, surface risks early, and improve delivery flow through practical coaching and disciplined follow-through.
This is not primarily an implementation-focused role. While technical fluency is important, this person is expected to facilitate agile delivery, remove impediments, improve team effectiveness, and help the team operate successfully within organizational and cross-functional constraints with minimal day-to-day guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily scrums, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other key agile ceremonies.
- Identify, remove, and escalate blockers or dependencies that affect team delivery and execution.
- Coach the scrum team, product partners, and stakeholders on agile practices, team norms, and effective delivery behaviors.
- Improve sprint predictability, estimation quality, refinement readiness, and follow-through on team commitments.
- Drive continuous improvement by turning retrospective outcomes into practical actions and monitoring follow-through.
- Promote transparency around risks, dependencies, capacity, scope changes, and delivery status.
- Help protect the team from unnecessary disruption and improve focus on committed work.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and partners to manage dependencies and keep delivery moving.
- Partner with engineering and product leadership to improve delivery discipline, team health, and overall agile maturity.
Required Qualifications
- Proven Scrum Master experience supporting software delivery teams in agile environments.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience improving team execution, delivery predictability, and agile maturity over time.
- Ability to identify blockers quickly, drive resolution, and manage ambiguity with limited oversight.
- Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles and enough technical fluency to work credibly with engineering teams.
- Experience using delivery metrics, team signals, and operational feedback to identify issues and improve team performance.
- Experience coordinating across product, engineering, and other partner teams in shared delivery environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting teams that build products for small businesses or operate in financial services, payments, or related regulated environments.
- Experience coaching cross-functional product and engineering teams in shared delivery environments.
- Experience supporting multiple teams or helping scale agile practices beyond a single scrum team.
- Familiarity with agile delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Scrum certifications such as CSM, PSM, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with cloud or platform delivery concepts that help with technical dependency management and team coordination.
- What Success Looks Like
- Ramps quickly and helps the team establish strong sprint discipline and delivery rhythm in a short timeframe.
- Removes friction that slows execution and keeps work moving consistently across the team.
- Improves collaboration, transparency, and accountability across ceremonies and day-to-day delivery.
- Requires minimal guidance in day-to-day execution and consistently moves delivery issues toward resolution.
- Raises agile maturity and helps the team deliver more effectively with less churn, confusion, and avoidable delay.
