Are you passionate about business strategy, market analysis, and solving complex challenges? Hengst is seeking a motivated Strategic Business Analyst Intern to join our team for a full-time summer internship (6–8 weeks), with the opportunity to continue part-time (10–20 hours per week) during the school year.

Working directly with senior leadership, you'll help analyze market trends, evaluate pricing strategies, benchmark competitors, and identify opportunities for business growth. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting strategic initiatives that influence commercial decisions across North America while developing valuable analytical, financial, and business planning skills.

Position Summary

The Strategic Business Analyst Intern will support the team by analyzing pricing competitiveness, market positioning, and growth opportunities across the IAM and hydraulic businesses. This role will focus on reviewing how Hengst is priced in the market, comparing performance against competitors, and supporting strategic projects such as competitive benchmarking and potential growth strategy or M&A research.

The internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in commercial analysis, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current pricing structures and market competitiveness across business units
• Collect, organize, and compare competitor pricing and market data
• Support benchmarking efforts to identify pricing trends and opportunities
• Assist in evaluating where Hengst is positioned relative to competitors
• Research potential growth areas, strategic market opportunities, and M&A targets
• Prepare summaries, presentations, and reports for leadership review
• Collaborate with commercial, product, and strategy teams as needed
• Complete other related projects and analysis as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Strategic Marketing, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointAbility to organize data and present findings clearly
• Interest in pricing, strategy, market research, or business development
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team
