The Purpose: As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in bridging business needs with technical solutions to deliver successful projects and strategic initiatives across AP+. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges, define requirements, and translate them into practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
You'll analyse current processes and systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and produce clear, high-quality business analysis artefacts that support project delivery. Using a range of facilitation techniques, you'll engage with both internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration and achieve successful outcomes.
As a senior member of the Business Analysis team, you'll champion best practice, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our business analysis capability. The core accountabilities of the role will include: Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and define clear, actionable requirements.
Analyse business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer outcomes. Evaluate solutions, assess business impacts, and support informed decision-making. Facilitate workshops and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes. Translate complex technical information into clear, business-focused insights.
Support the design, testing, implementation, and delivery of business solutions. Champion business readiness and support change initiatives to ensure successful adoption. Create and maintain high-quality business analysis documentation that conform to AP+ governance standards.
The capabilities needed to be successful for this role are: We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst with the ability to navigate complex business challenges and deliver practical, customer-focused solutions. You'll bring: Highly proactive and experienced at leading business analysis activities across large, complex projects and change initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, assess options, and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions. Expertise in eliciting, documenting, prioritising, and managing business and system requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Experience analysing and improving business processes, using process modelling to identify efficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
The ability to develop business cases and assess the feasibility, risks, costs, and benefits of proposed solutions.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to facilitate workshops, influence decision-making, and build consensus across diverse groups including AP+ member institutions, vendors and a range of internal teams Experience planning and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defining acceptance criteria, coordinating testing, and ensuring solutions meet business needs.
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused insights. A collaborative approach, with a passion for mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and championing business analysis best practice. While strong Business Analysis capability is essential, experience in one or more of the following would be highly regarded: eftpos and card payments.
