About the Position

The Staff Accountant plays a vital role within our firm, supporting both day-to-day bookkeeping and tax functions for multiple clients. This is a hybrid role requiring hands-on involvement in accounting operations as well as tax preparation and planning. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, C corporation, S corporation, partnership, and trust tax returns, primarily for clients in the entertainment industry
• Assist with tax planning and projections
• Prepare and assist with foreign filings including Forms 8840, 8858, 5471, 5472, and other international reporting requirements as needed
• Conduct tax research and remain current on relevant tax law developments
• Respond to tax notices and assist with correspondence from federal and state taxing authorities
• Communicate with clients and maintain strong professional client relationships
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, including recording transactions and maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients
• Prepare financial reports and assist with other accounting needs as requested by the client
• Assist with payroll processing (Paychex experience preferred)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required
• 1–4 years of accounting and tax experience (business management or public accounting preferred)
• Experience preparing individual and entity tax returns
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Strong computer skills including QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with Lacerte tax software preferred
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
