Tax Staff Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of tax compliance, Excel, and QuickBooks, with the ability to develop analytical skills. This role is essential in assisting clients with their , tax filings, accounting, bookkeeping and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Duties

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Review financial records, including income statements and documentation of expenditures.
• Analyze tax information to identify potential deductions and credits.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and explain tax-related concepts.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to manage client accounts efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with other team members in the quality assurance department to ensure accuracy in all filings.

Skills

• Working Knowledge of tax software
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
• Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Knowledge of technical accounting principles related to tax preparation (or ability to learn).
• Excellent customer service skills, ensuring a positive experience for clients.
• Previous working experience in CPA/ accounting firm is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
