We are partnering with a well-established London-based recruitment consultancy that is scaling its permanent and contract teams ahead of this peak cycle. They specialise in professional services, technology, finance, healthcare, and engineering sectors, and they are seeking a Recruitment Consultant who thrives in high-volume, high-reward markets.

The Role

As a Recruitment Consultant, you will manage the full recruitment lifecycle across either permanent or contract assignments. You will be responsible for winning new client business, developing existing accounts, sourcing top-tier candidates, and closing placements consistently against quarterly targets.

This is not a passive CV-sending role; you will act as a trusted talent advisor to hiring managers and build long-lasting relationships that generate repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new business through outbound calls, LinkedIn outreach, networking events, and referrals, targeting hiring managers, HR directors, and department heads across your assigned sector.
• Manage the complete end-to-end recruitment process, from initial client briefing and job advert creation through to offer negotiation and post-placement aftercare.
• Source, screen, and interview candidates using platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Jobcentre Plus, and sector-specific job boards to build a robust pipeline.
• Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly placement targets, KPIs, and revenue benchmarks set by the team manager.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of your market sector, including salary benchmarks, competitor landscape, skill availability, and employment legislation relevant to UK hiring.
• Prepare and present shortlists to clients with detailed candidate summaries, ensuring alignment with job specifications and cultural fit requirements.
• Use CRM and ATS systems (such as Bullhorn, Vincere, or Mercury) to maintain accurate records of all client interactions, candidate applications, and placement progress.
• Negotiate fee structures, payment terms, and service level agreements with new and existing clients, protecting company margins while remaining competitive.
• Attend industry networking events, career fairs, and client meetings to raise personal and company brand awareness within the London recruitment market.
• Provide market intelligence and candidate feedback to clients, enabling them to refine job specifications and improve hiring outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal teams across divisions to cross-sell services and share leads where appropriate.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 12 months of experience in recruitment consulting, whether in-house or agency, within the UK market.
• Demonstrated ability to hit placement targets or KPI benchmarks in a previous recruitment role.
• Strong understanding of UK employment law, right-to-work requirements, and GDPR compliance in the context of candidate data handling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels from entry-level candidates to C-suite executives.
• Proficiency with recruitment technology including LinkedIn Recruiter, Bullhorn, Vincere, or equivalent ATS/CRM platforms.
• Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working in a commission-driven environment with clear performance expectations.
• Right to work in the UK is essential.

Technical Skills and Tools

LinkedIn Recruiter Lite or Sales Navigator, Bullhorn, Vincere, Mercury ATS, Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams), Indeed, Jobcentre Plus, XING, Google Workspace, Slack, and video interviewing platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
