Project Manager - BigCommerce

Jacobson, a dominant Northeast Floral Wholesaler, is a Well Established (80 years in business), Dynamic, Profitable company. We Are conducting a search for a Project Manager to optimize and expand the functionality of our new eCommerce platform website which employs BigCommerce’s B2B application.

This engagement will be quoted on a project basis.

The scope of this project is to accurately reflect within the new eCommerce platform our complex inventory management, ERP integration, warehouse operations, delivery logistics, customer specific pricing structures, and customer specific purchasing requirements.

You, as the ideal candidate, will combine technical eCommerce expertise with a practical understanding of how business operations, inventory management, fulfillment processes, customer requirements, and ERP systems interact to create a successful customer experience. If you are experienced in Sage X3 (our ERP), that would be a big plus.

Key Overall Responsibilities

• Establish project plans and timelines.
• Be the technical subject matter expert
• Manage task tracking and prioritization.
• Coordinate communications between Jacobson stakeholders and development partners.
• Conduct status meetings.
• Identify risks and mitigation plans.
• Provide regular progress reporting.
• Manage testing and acceptance processes.

Key Projects -- This engagement will be divided into 4 subprojects:

1.BigCommerce B2B Buyer Portal Implementation

The major aspects of this project will be to assess the current situation; discuss the new business requirements with Jacobson's stakeholders; design the customer-specific buyer experience; configure workflows, roles, and account structures; manage third party vendors and BigCommerce support; conduct testing and validation; and create documentation and training materials.

This will culminate in a fully functional buyer portal solution.

2. National Delivery Enablement

Implement and troubleshoot efforts necessary to support national delivery functionality within the BigCommerce environment.

The keys to this project are evaluate current shipping configuration and limitations; identify integration gaps and technical obstacles; coordinate with shipping providers, developers, and platform vendors; manage testing of shipping rules, delivery zones, and checkout workflows; recommend process improvements and configuration changes; and oversee deployment and validation.

This will culminate with a operational national delivery system, supported by documented workflows.

3. Product Quantity and Case Pack Ordering Enhancements

Evaluate and implement functionality that restricts designated products to case-quantity ordering rather than individual unit purchases.

To accomplish this the Project Manager must review the product catalog structure; identify products requiring case-pack restrictions; define business rules and user experience requirements; coordinate implementation with developers; manage testing and validation; and document ongoing maintenance requirements.

The result will be having configured ordering logic and user experience that enforces approved quantity restrictions.

4.Search Functionality Enhancements

Improve website search performance and relevance through optimization of product data, custom fields, search configurations, and product discoverability.

To accomplish this, the PM will need to audit current search functionality; identify missing product attributes, custom field data, and metadata; review historical website search capabilities for comparison; develop recommendations for improved search indexing, filtering, and product discovery; coordinate implementation of enhancements; and conduct testing and performance validation.

Once the above is completed Jacobson’s will have enhanced search experience with improved product discoverability and documented recommendations for ongoing optimization.
