Job Title: Business Analyst - Data

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst - Data to support a major enterprise-wide data modernization and regulatory compliance project. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to drive data quality, develop detailed requirements, and help shape innovative analytics solutions.

Required Skills

• Extensive hands-on SQL skills (candidates will be tested)
• Azure experience, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Power BI
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proficiency in writing BRDs, FRDs, and User Stories within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Data analysis, profiling, and validation expertise
• Ability to develop source-to-target data mappings and data dictionaries
• Experience with data governance principles and frameworks
• Problem-solving, organization, and critical thinking skills

Nice to Have Skills

• Python or other scripting languages
• Experience supporting SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration
• Knowledge of financial instruments used by institutions
• Certifications such as PMP, CBAP, or SAP

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 4 years in the insurance industry
• Proven expertise in technical and data-focused analysis in contract or consulting roles

Other Requirements

• Onsite 1-2 days per week in New York
• Ability to work in a hybrid schedule
• Experience working in enterprise data projects with a focus on data quality and modernization
• Capable of working under tight deadlines and managing multiple stakeholders
