As our Director of HR, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the people agenda for a business that combines manufacturing excellence, operational discipline, and ambitious growth.

You will be a trusted partner to the leadership team, working closely with plant and business leaders to strengthen capability, culture, and performance across the organization. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys being close to the business and making a visible difference on the shop floor and beyond.

You will lead the HR function for the organisation and help create the conditions for long-term success through strong leadership, engaged employees, and effective people processes. You will balance strategic thinking with practical execution, ensuring HR supports both day-to-day operations and future business growth.

As Director of HR for our largest Business Unit, you will also contribute greatly to shaping the HR function and business success across the entire Group.

Key Role

Responsibilities

• HR Strategy and Operations
• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Oversee the delivery of day-to-day HR operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all employee lifecycle processes.
• Lead key initiatives in performance management, succession planning, and organisational development.
• Talent Acquisition and Retention
• Lead end-to-end recruitment strategies to attract, select, and retain high-calibre talent.
• Partner with senior leadership to anticipate workforce needs and implement robust succession planning.
• Develop and implement retention strategies to support business continuity and growth.
• Employee Relations and Engagement
• Foster a high-performance culture through effective employee engagement, communication, and alignment with organisational values.
• Lead employee relations strategies, ensuring proactive management of workplace issues.
• Implement systems and metrics to drive individual and organisational performance.
• Policy, Compliance, and Legal Oversight
• Ensure all HR policies and procedures are compliant with relevant employment legislation and best practice.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update policies accordingly.
• Provide expert guidance on employment law and risk management.

Compensation and Benefits

Management

• Oversee the design and management of competitive and compliant compensation and benefits frameworks.
• Manage benefits administration and leave policies in line with organisational and legal requirements.
• Engage with external partners and providers as required.

Training and Development

• Lead learning and development initiatives to support employee growth and organisational capability.
• Implement leadership development and succession programmes.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Budget and Reporting

• Develop and manage the HR budget, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
• Analyse HR metrics and provide insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making.

Change Management

• Act as a strategic partner to business leaders in driving organisational change.
