At Alpha, students in grades K-3 complete academics through AI-powered applications in two-hour blocks each day. As a Guide, you will lead a single cohort band—either K-1 (Kindergarten–1st grade) or 2-3 (2nd–3rd grade)—and adjust your energy, rhythm, and workshop delivery to suit that developmental range. There are no lectures. No worksheets.

Half of your day is spent facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering public speaking, focus, and peer feedback. These workshops provide a foundation, not a rigid script—top performers in this role customize them for their cohort and create new sessions when gaps emerge.

The remaining half of your day is dedicated to sitting with students individually or in small clusters, analyzing Coachbot data, and coaching each child toward 100% completion of their weekly app targets. With five- and six-year-olds, energy and playfulness are not optional enhancements; they are the mechanisms through which you sustain attention long enough to accomplish anything meaningful.

In your first year, you will internalize the playbook; as you demonstrate your ability to uphold standards, opportunities open to become a Lead Guide, where you mentor new hires while continuing to work directly with students.

If you prefer traditional classroom teaching, expect fully scripted curricula, or view warmth and rigor as incompatible, this position will not suit you.

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for cohorts of 10-15 K-3 students covering public speaking, focus, feedback, and other foundational skills
• Conducting daily 1:1 and small-group coaching sessions to keep students on track for weekly app goals, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and the individual relationship you have built with each child
• Administering Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery-based assessment) for each life skill and coaching students who do not pass until they achieve mastery
• Meeting kindergarteners at their developmental level through songs, storytelling, movement, and playfulness, while maintaining real, quantifiable standards for second and third graders
• Serving as the warm adult children are excited to see at drop-off AND the adult who will not allow them to settle for less than their potential
• What You Won’t Be Doing
• Delivering lectures from the whiteboard; academic content is delivered through the apps, not by you
• Creating curriculum from the ground up; Alpha supplies the playbook, and you execute it with fidelity and energy
• Passively monitoring children at computers; motivation in this environment is active, individualized, and persistent
• Reducing a weekly target so a child can meet it; when a student falls behind, the solution is additional support for the student, not adjustment of the goal
• Grading homework, running standardized test preparation, or managing parent communications;
• Campus Leads handle parent-facing responsibilities, and the other tasks do not exist in this model

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure every student in your K-3 cohort completes their weekly learning goals, achieves mastery in each life skill, and finishes the year reporting that they loved you.

Basic Requirements

• Willing to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation support provided)
• Bachelor's degree in any subject
• At least 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4 to 9 (early-elementary teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program leadership)
• A concrete example you can articulate of motivating a young child toward a challenging goal: the goal itself, your actions, and the result
• Able to attend a paid training program at our Austin, TX campus
• Willingness to allow AI to deliver instructional content while you concentrate on motivation and life-skills coaching
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Requirements

• Experience in youth sports coaching, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori/progressive early education, or after-school programs where you held direct responsibility for motivating young children toward measurable goals
• Personal history of high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional) such that holding others to demanding standards is a consistent behavior, not an adopted stance
• Natural performer's presence with young children—the capacity to command a room of kindergarteners through vocal energy, playfulness, and physical movement
• Demonstrated success turning shy or reluctant young children into confident, engaged participants

Working with usThis is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
