Senior Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering execution for strategic consumer digital product platforms. This role requires a unique blend of technical leadership, people management, delivery ownership, and business partnership.

The ideal consultant is a hands-on engineering leader who has successfully led multiple engineering teams, coached technical leaders, driven predictable delivery outcomes, and partnered closely with Product, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver customer-facing digital experiences at scale This position is accountable for engineering execution across assigned product pods and serves as the primary leader responsible for team performance, technical direction, delivery predictability, and alignment of engineering initiatives with business objective

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Leadership & Delivery
• Own end-to-end engineering delivery for assigned product pods.
• Drive predictable sprint execution, release planning, and delivery outcomes.
• Establish and maintain engineering operational excellence standards.
• Lead engineering execution across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Remove delivery blockers and proactively manage execution risks.
• Ensure high-quality software delivery through strong engineering practices.
• People Leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop software engineers, technical leads, and senior engineers.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development discussions.
• Build high-performing engineering teams through mentorship and talent development.
• Drive succession planning and next-level readiness for team members.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Partnership
• Partner closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, UX, QA, and Architecture teams.
• Negotiate scope, priorities, and delivery timelines based on data-driven insights.
• Align engineering execution with product strategy and business objectives.
• Facilitate effective communication across engineering and business stakeholders.
• Technical Leadership
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and architectural guidance.
• Review system designs, technical solutions, and engineering proposals.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices and platform standards.
• Guide teams in scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability initiatives.
• Support cloud-native and distributed application development efforts.
• Business Impact & Strategic Planning
• Connect engineering investments to customer experience, conversion, engagement, and business outcomes.
• Develop and maintain technical roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
• Use operational and business metrics to drive prioritization decisions.
• Present engineering progress, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.3+ years of Engineering Manager, Senior Manager, Director, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading multiple software engineering teams or product pods.
• Demonstrated ownership of engineering delivery, roadmap execution, and team performance.
• Experience managing Technical Leads and Senior Engineers.
• Strong experience conducting performance management, coaching, and career development.
• Experience partnering with Product Management and business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Experience leading customer-facing digital products at scale.

Preferred Experience

Consumer digital platform experience.eCommerce, subscription, customer acquisition, or digital sales platform experience.

Experience supporting high-volume applications serving large user bases.

Experience working in data-driven product organizations.

Experience influencing organizational engineering strategy.
