Head Accountant
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Head Accountant to lead the company's accounting and financial operations. This role is responsible for the integrity of all financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, payroll, and compliance while partnering closely with senior leadership to provide financial insight that supports business growth.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, cash management, and financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for senior leadership.
- Partner with executive management to develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and profitability while providing strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Review and analyze departmental P&Ls, operating expenses, commissions, and overall financial performance.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all accounting transactions are properly recorded in QuickBooks.
- Process vendor invoices, payments, credit card transactions, cash receipts, bank deposits, wire transfers, and foreign currency transactions.
- Perform monthly bank, vendor, customer, and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Manage high-volume accounts receivable and collections while maintaining strong client and vendor relationships.
- Prepare commission statements, financial reports, and other accounting schedules as needed.
- Develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Establish procurement policies and oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and purchasing processes.
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors for monthly reporting, year-end close, audits, and tax preparation.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
- Oversee payroll administration, employee benefits, commissions, bonuses, and related HR accounting functions.
- Maintain corporate insurance policies and financial records.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and support the company's continued growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA is a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with responsibility for the full accounting cycle.
- Experience managing accounting personnel and overseeing daily financial operations.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, payroll, and internal controls.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience working with multiple legal entities is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives, employees, outside accountants, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and accounting or business management software.
