Role Description The Staff Tax Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, OH. This role is responsible for preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities, while assisting with tax planning and compliance throughout the year.

Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and analyzing client financial data, reconciling accounts, and supporting the preparation and review of financial statements. The Staff Tax Accountant will research tax issues, monitor changes in tax laws, and help ensure that filings are accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

The role also involves collaborating with senior team members, communicating with clients, and contributing to a high level of client service and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation to ensure accurate and timely filing of returns.
• Strong understanding of Tax concepts and regulations to support planning, research, and advisory work.
• Ability to work with Financial Statements, including analysis and reconciliation, to support tax reporting.
• Solid Accounting skills, including general ledger work and familiarity with accounting principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; eligibility to pursue CPA licensure is preferred.
• Proficiency with tax and accounting software, as well as Microsoft Excel and other productivity tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to be proactive and manage clients.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work efficiently with a team member.
• Eagerness to learn and a positive attitude to get through busy seasons.
