Business Analyst (Automation / RPA Focus)

What we re hearing from the client

• There s an emerging need around automation (UiPath)
• Likely a contract-to-hire setup
• Sweet spot is someone around 3 5 years of experience

What the role actually looks like

This isn t your typical requirements-gathering BA it s much more hands-on and consultative.

Day-to-day will include

• Talking with stakeholders across the business to really understand how things work today
• Digging into processes, systems, and data (not just scratching the surface)
• Documenting current state in a way that actually tells the full story

Tech / background

• Exposure to UiPath or RPA
• Needs to have some IT background (understands how systems connect)
• Utility experience is NOT required she s open to other industries

What You ll Be Doing

This role goes beyond traditional requirements gathering this person will play a key role in identifying and shaping automation opportunities.

Key responsibilities include

• Partnering with business stakeholders to understand current-state processes across various teams
• Digging into workflows, systems, and data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
• Documenting processes in a way that clearly outlines both current and future state
• Participating in working sessions and workshops to uncover automation opportunities
• Helping evaluate ideas by asking:
• Can this be automated?
• Does it make sense from a cost and value perspective?
• Collaborating with technical teams (including RPA developers) to validate feasibility and support solution design

• Ability to work through ambiguity and bring structure to loosely defined problems
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both business and technical stakeholders
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

• 3 5+ years of Business Analyst experience
• Exposure to RPA tools (UiPath preferred) or automation initiatives
• Background in IT or experience working with technical teams and systems
• Experience with process mapping, discovery, or continuous improvement efforts

Nice to have

• Experience in utilities or regulated environments (not required)

• Hybrid work model (~3 days onsite)
