- About the business
- A sales-led distribution business operating across Ireland and internationally.
- The business is ambitious and commercially focused, with continued growth on the agenda.
- The People function is settled, well-regarded internally, and highly collaborative.
The role
Reporting into a senior HR manager, this HR Business Partner will work closely with a number of senior leaders across commercial, operational, and support areas of the business. The role is a genuine mix of business partnering and hands-on generalist work - it will suit someone who is equally comfortable in a leadership meeting and rolling up their sleeves on an operational HR task.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with senior leaders to understand commercial priorities and develop practical people plans that support business performance and growth
- Build strong working relationships with managers and leadership teams across a distributed, field-based workforce
- Support and develop managers in building their people management capability - including giving feedback, navigating difficult conversations, managing performance, and supporting development
- Manage employee relations matters end to end, providing clear, consistent guidance to managers at every stage of the process
- Support business change, restructuring, and integration activity with a clear focus on the people impact
- Use people data and analytics to spot patterns and support better decision-making across the business
- Contribute to talent management, succession planning, and capability development across the business
- Support diversity, inclusion, and engagement initiatives, including acting on survey findings at leadership level
- Work with the wider People team on compliance, governance, and alignment with Irish employment legislation and HR standards
- Support workforce planning conversations with senior stakeholders
- Work closely with the recruitment team on hiring activity aligned to business needs and workforce plans
- Support the onboarding of new hires and help ensure they are set up for success
- Contribute to wider People projects and collaborate with HR colleagues to drive consistency and improve employee experience
- Mentor and support more junior members of the HR team
What we're looking for
- Essential
- Experience operating at HR Business Partner level, ideally within a multi-site or fast-paced commercial environment
- Strong working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and Irish employment law
- Experience supporting a commercially driven, distributed or field-based workforce.
- Genuine curiosity about the businesses and teams being supported - the commercial leaders here respond well to someone who takes a real interest in what they do
- Comfortable with ambiguity and organisational change - and able to see the opportunity in it rather than the disruption
- Confident building relationships with and influencing senior stakeholders
- Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
- Comfortable working across more than one office location
- Able to mentor and support more junior HR colleagues
- Desirable
- Degree in HR, Business, or a related discipline;
- CIPD qualification an advantage
