Staff Accountant / Tax Accountant | Remote, Hybrid, or In-Office

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with Tax Preparation experience who values client relationships, professional growth, and a flexible work environment. Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business income tax returns
• Prepare and review tax workpapers and supporting documentation
• Maintain and reconcile client accounting records
• Prepare journal entries and financial reports
• Research tax issues and assist with tax planning opportunities
• Communicate with clients regarding tax and accounting matters
• Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
• Assist with bookkeeping and accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of public accounting experience
• 3–5 years of experience preparing tax returns (UltraTax preferred)
• Strong knowledge of individual and business tax preparation
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles and the full accounting cycle
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, EA, or CPA candidate
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
• Experience working in a small accounting firm
