Junior Accountant - Tax Assembly

An established public accounting firm is seeking a Junior Accountant in New York City. This hybrid role supports tax assembly, accounting organization, and seasonal deliverables in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

About the Opportunity

• Schedule: Monday through Friday (hybrid: Monday and Friday in office, Tuesday through Thursday remote)
• Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Setting: Contract-to-Hire

Responsibilities

• Support the tax assembly process by organizing, collating, and packaging completed tax returns
• Prepare returns and supporting materials for e-filing and client distribution
• Perform accounting and bookkeeping support tasks using QuickBooks
• Assist with data entry, document organization, and general accounting support during busy season
• Maintain accuracy and workflow efficiency as volume increases and deadlines approach

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates are welcome
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to stay organized and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Willingness to work overtime as seasonal demand increases

Desired Skills
