Interim Staff Accountant

Our client, a financial services company, is seeking an Interim Staff Accountant to provide support during a temporary leave coverage period.

The position is hybrid, with in-office expectations in Austin, TX. There is potential for remote flexibility. This engagement is expected to last 3-4 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile various balance sheet, cash, and operational accounts
• Review account activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve variances in a timely manner
• Analyze financial transactions and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting purposes
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to research and resolve accounting issues
• Support audit requests by gathering documentation and reconciliation support
• Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with financial reporting activities
• Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes, controls, and documentation
• Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1–4 years of accounting experience
• Strong account reconciliation and transactional accounting experience
• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and working with large datasets
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
