Senior AccountantCalling all Senior Accountants!! Our client, a growing manufacturing company located in the Raleigh, NC area, needs a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their accounting team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, process improvement, and operational support within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
While working as the Senior Accountant, you will work closely with Accounting, Operations, and Leadership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls, with responsibilities including:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Leading key aspects of the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating/resolving discrepancies
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Analyzing financial results and preparing variance analyses for management review
- Supporting manufacturing operations through inventory, cost accounting, and production-related financial analysis
- Monitoring and maintaining fixed asset records, including depreciation calculations and capital project tracking
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Collaborating with operations and department managers to understand business performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Supporting internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls
- Assisting with sales and use tax filings, property tax reporting, and other regulatory requirements
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls
- Participating in ERP system enhancements, reporting improvements, and special projects as needed

- To be considered for this specific position, you would need to have:5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Manufacturing, cost accounting, or inventory accounting experience strongly preferred
- ERP system experience required (multi-site or manufacturing ERP experience preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis functions
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations and management teams
- CPA designation or CPA-track preferred but not required
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
