Financial Assistant

Hoshizaki Europe is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and hands-on Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the UK branch. This is a varied and practical role suited to someone who enjoys being involved across all aspects of finance administration and accounting support.

The successful candidate will be an all-round finance professional who is comfortable handling transactional finance duties, supporting month-end activities, assisting with reporting, and working closely with multiple departments across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable & Receivable:
• Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare payment runs and assist with bank payments
• Raise customer invoices and credit notes
• Monitor customer accounts and support credit control activities
• Follow up on overdue payments professionally
• Banking & Reconciliations:
• Perform daily bank reconciliations
• Post receipts and payments into the accounting system
• Assist with cash flow tracking and reporting
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• General Finance Support:
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support VAT returns and audit preparation
• Maintain fixed asset and expense records
• Assist with budgeting and financial reporting tasks
• Support payroll administration where required
• Administrative & Operational Support:
• Handle finance-related queries from suppliers, customers, and internal teams
• Maintain filing systems and finance documentation
• Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives
• Provide ad hoc administrative and finance support to the wider business
• Skills & Experience

Required

Technical Expertise:

• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or similar hands-on finance role
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Practical, proactive, and willing to support across different finance functions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• AAT qualification or studying toward accounting qualifications is advantageous
