About the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to manage the financial operations of our growing portfolio of rental homes and apartments. Be a part of a strong team that has a great deal of passion for real estate. This is a part-time on-site role.

What You’ll Do

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for the property portfolio
• Process rent payments, security deposits, and other tenant transactions
• Maintain accurate financial records in AppFolio, Yardi, or similar property management software
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Support rent collection efforts and tenant ledger management
• Handle general administrative tasks including answering phones, ordering supplies, and filing
• Show available properties occasionally and provide backup support to the operations team as needed
• Work closely with ownership and property managers on day-to-day financial matters

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Strong accounting and bookkeeping experience (property management/real estate preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including formulas, sorting, filtering, etc.)
• Experience with property management software (AppFolio, Yardi, or similar) is a big plus
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Professional demeanor with strong integrity and discretion (handling confidential financial information)
• Self-motivated and able to work independently

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
• 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (real estate/property management experience strongly preferred)
• Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site in Columbus
