Operations Risk Manager

Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Programs Manager to support the Operational Non-Financial Risk (ONFR) function. This role is responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide operational risk programs, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, policies, and regulatory standards.

You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen operational risk management practices, monitor program effectiveness, support governance activities, and provide strategic recommendations that enhance enterprise risk oversight.

This position is ideal for a risk professional with strong governance, operational risk, and stakeholder management experience within the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee operational risk governance, monitoring, and reporting for assigned programs.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise operational risk frameworks, policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Partner with business stakeholders to ensure compliance with operational risk requirements.
• Identify, assess, and escalate operational risks while recommending mitigation strategies.
• Analyze emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory changes to support decision-making.
• Conduct governance assessments and provide strategic recommendations.
• Lead governance meetings, reporting, documentation, and committee support.
• Coordinate regulatory examinations, audits, and governance reviews.
• Maintain operational risk program documentation, templates, and reporting tools.
• Support Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), SOX, quality control, and testing activities where applicable.
• Develop change management and communication plans for governance initiatives.
• Monitor program performance, metrics, attestations, and action plans.
• Build strong partnerships across business units and second-line risk teams.
• Provide analytical support and risk insights to senior stakeholders.
• Participate in strategic initiatives supporting enterprise operational risk management.

Required Technical Skills

• 5–7 years of Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, or Governance experience.
• Strong knowledge of Operational Risk Management frameworks.
• Experience with Risk Policy Frameworks.
• Experience with Quality Control and Testing Frameworks.
• Knowledge of operational risk governance and regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting enterprise-wide risk programs.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Experience preparing governance reporting and executive presentations.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Skills

• Experience within Banking or Financial Services.
• Experience supporting regulatory audits and examinations.
• Knowledge of Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA).
• Experience with SOX or regulatory compliance programs.
• Governance committee management experience.
• Change management experience.
