Finance Controller Logistics Operations

Wood Couture is seeking an experienced Finance Controller to join our Finance team in Dubai, UAE. In this role, you will oversee financial planning, reporting, cost control, cash flow management, and logistics finance operations, playing a key role in ensuring profitability and financial discipline across our supply chain and project operations.

We are specifically looking for candidates who have worked for a logistics company, freight forwarding company, shipping company, supply chain organization, or a business with significant logistics operations. Hands-on experience managing transportation, freight, customs, warehousing, shipping, delivery-related financial operations, logistics vendor payments, and logistics profitability analysis is mandatory.

Candidates without relevant logistics company experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monitor project, client, and logistics profitability.
• Control transportation, freight, customs, warehousing, and delivery costs.
• Validate shipping invoices and logistics vendor payments.
• Manage cash flow, receivables, and payables.
• Coordinate marine insurance declarations and claims reporting.
• Lead the finance team and collaborate with procurement, logistics, warehouse, and project teams.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, customs requirements, and internal controls.
• Support management with financial analysis and cost optimization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA.
• 7–10 years of finance and accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a Financial Controller or supervisory role.
• Proven logistics finance and cost management experience (mandatory).
• Previous experience working for a logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, or supply chain company (mandatory).
• Experience in FF&E, furniture, interior fit-out, logistics, or supply chain industries is a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of transportation, freight, customs, warehousing, and delivery cost analysis.
• Advanced Excel and ERP skills (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred).
• Solid understanding of UAE VAT and customs-related financial processes.
