Hawkeye Partners
Corporate & Fund Accountant - Fund Finance / Corporate Accounting
Hawkeye Partners is a private equity firm founded in 2004 to sponsor investment programs in underserved areas of the real estate asset class on behalf of large institutional investors. Hawkeye is seeking a Fund Accountant to join its lean, high-impact team, with broad exposure across the firm and ownership over accounting, financial reporting, and process execution across multiple real estate investment strategies.
The role is well suited for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can manage recurring processes, coordinate across internal and external stakeholders, and help strengthen scalable finance and reporting infrastructure as the platform grows.
Maintain month-end and quarter-end close processes across multiple fund-level entities and the corporate/management company. Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, bank reconciliations, expense management, and recurring close deliverables.
Review property-level accounting prepared by third-party managers for GAAP and investor compliance. Coordinate with managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting, resolve open items, and maintain consistency across reporting packages.
Prepare and maintain capital call and distribution notices, PCAPs, investor income allocations, quarterly and annual financial statements, fund-level performance metrics, and standard or ad hoc investor reporting.
Assist with daily cash management and treasury functions. Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers, collaborate with portfolio management, asset management, and legal, and support process improvements, systems, and controls as the platform scales.
Help refine accounting calendars, reporting templates, documentation, and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, data integrity, and use of technology while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and institutional-quality reporting standards.
B.A. degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or progress toward licensure preferred.
5-8 years of relevant experience in public accounting and private equity accounting; real estate background a plus.
