Tax Accountant

Primary Purpose

Responsible for analyzing transactions and preparing federal and state income tax returns for our client corporation and its subsidiaries.

Principal Duties

• Prepares and files federal and state income tax returns, estimated payments, extensions, claims, and all related documentation in compliance with relevant deadlines.
• Assists in the maintenance and verification of payment and accrual records to ensure accurate federal and state tax reporting.
• Reviews income statement and balance sheet activity to determine the appropriate tax treatment under federal and state regulations.
• Supports special studies and projects related to federal and state tax planning initiatives.
• Assists in the development of income tax accruals and related workpapers in accordance with current tax laws and regulations, as well as financial reporting requirements.
• Prepares supporting documentation for federal and state tax positions and responds to audit and regulatory inquiries as needed.
