Job Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Duration: 10-Month Contract

About the Role

This role requires a strong Business Analyst with experience gathering business requirements, creating user stories, documenting business processes, and collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and business process analysis.
• Create Epics, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and Functional Requirements.
• Document As-Is and To-Be business processes.
• Develop business process flows, workflow diagrams, and wireframes.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, QA, and Project Managers throughout the SDLC.
• Manage backlog items, change requests, and project priorities.
• Perform gap analysis and recommend process improvements.
• Support system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and implementation activities.
• Create reports, documentation, and presentations for leadership.
• Mentor junior Business Analysts and provide guidance on best practices.
• Communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, business users, and technical teams.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst experience.
• Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
• Experience creating User Stories, Epics, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Hands-on Agile/Scrum experience.
• Strong Business Process Analysis and Process Improvement skills.
• Experience with BRDs, FRDs, Functional Specifications, and Process Documentation.
• Experience with SQL for data validation and reporting.
• Experience using JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar tools.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, Business, Criminology, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Case Management Systems or similar enterprise applications.
• Experience supporting State or Government projects.
• Project Management experience.
• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience creating wireframes, Visio diagrams, or workflow documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
