Accounting Manager

Addison Group is partnering with a rapidly growing, publicly traded global industry leader to identify an Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting team.

This is a highly visible opportunity to own key areas of the monthly and quarterly close, financial reporting, and compensation accounting while partnering with leaders across Finance and the business. The role offers broad exposure to executive leadership and the chance to make a meaningful impact by improving processes, strengthening internal controls, and supporting a high-growth organization.

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 2 days in office)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead accounting for compensation, operating expenses, vendor accruals, fixed assets, cash, and other key balance sheet accounts
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and cash activity
• Oversee the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare financial reporting schedules and support external reporting and audit requirements
• Perform variance analysis and investigate significant fluctuations
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and internal accounting policies
• Coordinate annual audits and maintain audit-ready documentation
• Partner with Finance, IT, and business leaders to improve reporting, systems, and accounting processes
• Lead and develop the accounting team through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and ERP enhancements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA required6+ years of public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
