Voyage Advisory is seeking an IT Project Manager with experience in P&C Insurance. The IT Project Manager will oversee the planning and execution of IT initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end project management activities for complex IT initiatives, including application, integration, and AI‑enabled solutions
- Manage day‑to‑day execution across all project phases to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery
- Develop, maintain, and govern project documentation, including charters, schedules, budgets, risk logs, and communication plans
- Partner with business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and technical teams to translate business needs into functional and technical deliverables
- Secure and coordinate project resources and funding in collaboration with leadership and functional managers
- Monitor project performance and provide regular status reporting to sponsors and stakeholders
- Communicate project risks, dependencies, issues, and mitigation plans to leadership and executives
- Ensure project deliverables comply with governance, audit, and internal control requirements
- Identify and manage cross‑project dependencies and resolve conflicts proactively
- Stay current on emerging technologies, including AI trends, and assess applicability to project delivery
- Perform additional project‑related duties as required
Skills
- 5+ years of IT project management experience supporting application development and data integration initiatives
- 4+ years of recent experience in P&C Insurance and M&A
- Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage mid‑sized to large IT projects
- Proven experience delivering projects using Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies
- Hands‑on experience with project and portfolio management tools such as MS Project, Planview, and SharePoint
- Ability to translate business requirements into actionable technology deliverables
- Broad understanding of enterprise IT systems and integration patterns
- Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to technical and non‑technical audiences
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail
- Effective analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
- Ability to work successfully in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment
- Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities and proactively address project risks
- Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder relationship‑building skills
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S. degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
- Experience within commercial insurance or financial services environments preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred but not required
- CPCU designation or advanced degree is a plus
