Interim Program Manager – Early Psychosis Intervention (Full-time Contract - 3 Months)

The Role and Opportunity

The Manager co-ordinates the day-to-day activities of the program, ensures effective team functioning, provides leadership, and works in partnership with other programs of Canadian Mental Health Association–Toronto Branch (CMHA) and with community stakeholders.

The Manager ensures that the program operates in keeping with the mission, strategic directions, policies, and client-centred focus of CMHA Toronto, and in accordance with funder requirements.

The role also provides oversight of program operations, staff supervision, quality improvement initiatives, and community partnerships to ensure the delivery of high-quality, recovery-oriented services and positive outcomes for clients and their families.

Salary: $78,238 - $85,718

Hours of Work: 35 per week

Responsibilities

Program Staff

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development for permanent and contract employees.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture through coaching, supervision, training, and ongoing support.
• Establish performance goals, conduct evaluations, and support professional growth opportunities within budget.

Program Management

• Provides operational and clinical leadership for the Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) portfolio, including oversight of the Early Psychosis Intervention Program, Transitional Age Youth Services, ARCS-IP, and the University of Toronto Case Management Program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed, and recovery-oriented care.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, documentation standards, data collection requirements, and quality assurance practices.
• Approve staff time, expenses, and training requests.
• Facilitate team and clinical meetings, provide management-level on-call support, and prepare program reports.
• Represent the organization on internal and external committees and maintain strong partnerships across the health and community sectors.

Program Development

• Fosters strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, community agencies, primary care providers, and provincial networks, to enhance access, continuity of care, and outcomes for youth and young adults experiencing first-episode psychosis.
• Lead program planning, evaluation, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
• Prepare proposals and funding applications and recommend service enhancements to improve client outcomes.
• Ensure client feedback informs program design and service delivery.

Professional Activities

• Leads and supports the coordination, and ongoing delivery of Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) for psychosis in alignment with Provincial Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) Program standards, best practices, and performance expectations.
• Oversee student placements and support learning opportunities.
• Maintain current knowledge and competencies through ongoing professional development.

Experience & Education Required

• Degree in health or social services.
• Experience in program development.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in developing program partnerships and collaborations with external agencies.
• Proven effective supervisory and leadership experience.
• Minimum 5years experience in clinical case management.
• Experience working with youth.
• Knowledge of the Early Intervention approach to care and key program components.
• Superior organizational and communication skills.
• Pro-active, flexible, and able to prioritize and coordinate the many activities of the portfolio.
• Ability to liaise with stakeholders and develop program partnerships and collaborations with external agencies.
• Ability to provide Supervision to the Early Intervention team of professionals using your experience and leadership to facilitate, motivate, and lead teams.
• Ability to apply knowledge of Early Intervention approaches to care and key program components.
