Accountant/Bookkeeper I-II

A to Z Bookkeeping Services, Inc., is looking for a full-time bookkeeper to join the team. Our company offers full-charge bookkeeping solutions to small businesses, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals. We work with clients in every sector: real estate, construction management/development, software start-ups, restaurants and bars, healthcare providers, legal services, financial services, etc.

Our ideal candidate is someone who has a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and is proficient with QuickBooks. Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to multitask are essential for this position.

Essential Duties

• Maintain up-to-date documents for each client
• Data entry for daily transactions
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements, AP, and AR on QuickBooks.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements
• Process payroll and file payroll tax forms
• Schedule sales tax prepayments and file sales tax returns
• Post adjusting journal entries
• Prepare 1099s and W-2s

Qualifications

• 1-3 years bookkeeping experience
• College degree (preferably in accounting or a related major)
• Basic accounting courses (clear understanding of debits and credits)
• Proficiency in Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online
• Competency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (must know how to use formulas)
• Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and clients (verbal and written)
• Effective time management, understanding of deadlines

Additional Qualifications Preferred

• Business acumen and understanding of accounting cycle
• Proficiency with ADP, Gusto, Paychex, or any other payroll systems

Compensation

This is a full-time position, and you will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours/week.

Full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, after a probationary period.

The starting salary for this position depends on the depth and breadth of the applicant's experience. The typical starting wage is $25.00/hour-$32.00/hour depending on experience.
