As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the daily accounting operations of the company, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Post daily bank transactions.
• Apply daily accounts receivable cash receipts.
• Code, process, and reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reports.
• Process weekly check runs.
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare related journal entries.
• Assist in preparing month-end financial and management reports.
• Research and resolve accounting and financial questions.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Develop and maintain spreadsheet reports using Excel, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables.
• Support billing and collections activities as needed.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 5 years of staff accounting experience.
• Experience in the transportation or logistics (trucking) industry preferred.
• Billing and collections experience is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of McLeod Software is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.

Schedule & Work Environment

Location: In-office

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Lunch is scheduled between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM to ensure departmental coverage.

As MW Logistics operates 24/7/365, occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required to meet business needs.

Reports To: Director of Accounting

Physical Requirements

This position is primarily sedentary and involves sitting for extended periods. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of materials up to 10 pounds may be required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
