Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Type: 3 - 6 Month Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support a growing finance team in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This position is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, cash management, general ledger accounting, monthly close activities, and financial reporting support.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent organizational skills, and thrives in a collaborative, high-growth environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting activities including Accounts Payable (AP), cash management, General Ledger (GL), and related accounting functions.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
• Complete account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis as requested.
• Own the purchase order (PO), accounts payable, and three-way matching process.
• Ensure vendor invoices are reconciled and payments are processed accurately and on time.
• Assist with annual financial audits and tax preparation activities.
• Support federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional accounting duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with Accounts Payable, General Ledger, fixed assets, and account reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or ERP systems.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or advanced technology industries.
• Experience supporting high-growth or pre-IPO companies.
• Experience with ERP systems like Ramp, or similar accounting platforms.
• Strong process improvement mindset.
