Teddy Accounting Services PLLC is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant / Tax Preparer to join our growing public accounting firm. We serve individuals and businesses across various industries, including cannabis businesses, and are looking for a professional who can manage accounting, payroll, tax preparation, and regulatory compliance with accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of professional accounting or public accounting experience.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
• Experience processing payroll using Gusto.
• Working knowledge of Drake Tax Software for preparing individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and fiduciary tax returns.
• Experience filing Washington State sales and excise tax returns through the Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR).
• Experience preparing and submitting Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) licensing and compliance paperwork for cannabis business clients.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, accounting principles, payroll, and tax regulations.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and client service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bookkeeping records using QuickBooks.
• Process payroll and payroll tax filings through Gusto.
• Prepare individual and business tax returns using Drake Tax Software.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts.
• Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements.
• File Washington State sales and excise tax returns through the Department of Revenue.
• Prepare and submit LCB licensing, renewal, and compliance documentation for cannabis business clients.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding bookkeeping, payroll, taxes, and compliance matters.
• Assist with tax planning and year-end accounting projects.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a CPA or public accounting firm.
• Experience serving cannabis industry clients.
• CPA candidate, CPA, or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is a plus.
