Canonsburg, PA 15317 (Hybrid)$80,000–$85,000A well-established organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team.

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this position supports the organization's overall financial operations and plays a key role in general ledger accounting, student accounts, endowment and fund accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulations
• The Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, student accounts, and fixed assets
• Record and maintain accurate general ledger entries and supporting documentation
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Support endowment and fund accounting activities
• The Senior Accountant will assist with internal and external financial reporting
• Participate in the annual audit process and respond to auditor requests
• The Senior Accountant will collaborate with colleagues to support financial operations and process improvements
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• For The Senior Accountant Role
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Five or more years of accounting or finance experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit organizations, or endowment/fund accounting is a plus
