Assistant to Finance Manager

Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in finance, accounting, banking, or treasury support.

Job Summary

To provide comprehensive administrative and financial support to the Finance Manager by assisting in financial reporting, banking operations, treasury management, budgeting, accounts coordination, compliance, and day-to-day finance department activities while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely execution of financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

• Support the Finance Manager in budgeting and cash flow planning
• Monitor daily bank balances and cash positions
• Prepare payment schedules and maintain payment records
• Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable monitoring

Banking & Treasury

• Coordinate with banks regarding Letters of Credit (LC), Trust Receipts (TR), guarantees, overdraft facilities, and other banking transactions
• Prepare bank documentation, facility utilization reports, and supporting schedules
• Monitor loan repayments, LC maturities, and banking deadlines
• Maintain banking correspondence and facility documentation

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare management reports, financial summaries, and presentations
• Maintain proper filing of financial documents, contracts, and bank correspondence
• Ensure documentation readiness for audits and statutory compliance
• Prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules as required

Coordination

• Liaise with internal departments on finance-related matters
• Coordinate with auditors, bankers, suppliers, and customers when required
• Follow up on pending approvals and financial documentation

Compliance

• Ensure adherence to company financial policies and internal controls
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Assist in VAT and statutory compliance documentation

Administrative Support

• Schedule meetings and maintain the Finance Manager’s calendar
• Draft professional emails, letters, and financial correspondence
• Prepare meeting minutes and follow up on action items
• Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field
• 5–10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or treasury support
• Experience in construction or contracting companies will be an added advantage

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and banking operations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, or similar)
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and time management
