Business Analyst

We are currently seeking an experienced Payments Business Analyst to join our client's team, supporting a strategic payments transformation programme within a leading financial services organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of business-critical initiatives focused on payments modernisation, regulatory change and operational improvement.

Working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and delivery partners, you will be responsible for eliciting and documenting business requirements, analysing payment processes, and ensuring solutions are aligned to business objectives. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between business and technology, supporting the delivery of high-quality payment solutions in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements.
• Facilitate workshops to define business needs, identify process improvements and capture solution requirements.

Requirements

• Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
• Analyse current ("As-Is") and future ("To-Be") business processes and perform gap analysis.
• Support the Product Owner with backlog refinement, prioritisation and sprint planning.
• Work collaboratively with Solution Architects, Developers, QA and Operations teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management and business readiness activities.
• Conduct impact assessments across payment systems, processes and operational functions.
• Ensure solutions comply with business, regulatory and operational requirements.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Business and Technology to support successful project delivery.
• The successful candidate will have:
• Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within Banking or Financial Services.
• Strong knowledge of payment schemes and payment processing, including SEPA, SEPA Instant, SWIFT, ISO 20022, Domestic and International Payments.
• Experience delivering complex business and technology change programmes.
• Strong requirements gathering, business process mapping and documentation skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills.A strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify business challenges and translate them into practical solutions.
• Desirable Experience
• Experience with Payment Hub implementations or payments transformation programmes.
• Knowledge of Open Banking and PSD2.
• Experience supporting Core Banking transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of API integrations and system interfaces.SQL experience for data analysis and validation.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence and Visio.
• Relevant Business Analysis certification (IIBA, BCS or equivalent).
