Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to support a wide range of financial and operational accounting activities for a Contract position based in Denver, Colorado. This role is ideal for someone who can balance day-to-day transactional work with broader financial oversight, while helping maintain accurate records, strong reporting, and effective cost controls.

The position will partner across accounting, inventory, and administrative functions to keep financial operations organized and running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Manage payables, receivables, and payroll processing while maintaining accuracy and timeliness across routine accounting transactions.
• Maintain complete bookkeeping records, including posting customer and vendor activity and keeping the general ledger up to date.
• Prepare bank deposits, perform account reconciliations, and record journal entries to support accurate month-end and quarter-end close activities.
• Track incoming inventory, maintain inventory records, and help ensure materials are properly assigned and consumed against active jobs.
• Support inventory costing practices, bill of materials management, and internal controls related to stock movement and valuation.
• Review gross margin performance and job-level profitability to provide visibility into financial results and operational efficiency.
• Produce monthly and quarterly financial statements, along with reporting materials for leadership and board-level review.
• Monitor cash flow, support working capital management, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Provide administrative assistance in areas such as HR coordination and general office support as needed.
