Senior Accountant

Company Description Lightspeed Networks is a Phoenix, Arizona-based low-voltage construction contractor specializing in building and maintaining fiber optic networks across the southwest United States. Founded in 1999, the company has more than 25 years of experience serving major utilities, communications providers, and construction firms.

Role Description The Senior Accountant role at Lightspeed Networks is a full-time, hybrid position based in Phoenix Arizona. This role is responsible for managing the general ledger, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and overseeing month-end and year-end closing activities.

The Senior Accountant will prepare financial statements, analyze variances, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Daily responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable processes, bank and account reconciliations, and supporting budgeting and forecasting.

The role will collaborate with operations and project management teams to track project costs, monitor cash flow, and provide financial insights to leadership. The Senior Accountant will also assist with audits, support tax preparation, and recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• Strong financial accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to support business decision-making.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections processes.
• Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with audit support, tax-related documentation, and internal control practices.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
