Business Data Analyst

Business Analyst (Commercial & Finance)Our client is seeking a commercially minded Business Analyst to support strategic decision-making across a regional organisation. Working closely with Finance, Sales and Operations, you will turn data into actionable business insights, support financial planning activities and help drive business growth through informed decision-making.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical capabilities with commercial awareness and enjoys partnering with stakeholders across the business to solve complex challenges.

Responsibilities

• Analyse commercial, financial and operational performance across the region.
• Develop business cases to support strategic investments and growth initiatives.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
• Partner with Sales teams to understand performance drivers and identify improvement opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and actionable recommendations.
• Extract, structure and analyse data from ERP and business intelligence platforms.
• Produce management reporting and dashboards using BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense or Tableau.
• Support ERP transformation projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
• Participate in data integration and EDI-related projects with external partners and suppliers.
• Challenge assumptions, improve processes and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience in Business Analysis, Commercial Analytics, FP&A, Business Intelligence or a similar analytical role.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to build business cases and support strategic decision-making.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working with SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Power BI, Qlik Sense or Tableau is preferred.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA migrations, ERP transformations or EDI integration projects would be advantageous.
• Fluent English,
• German and French are essential;
• Italian would be a strong plus.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across Finance, Sales and Operations.
• Quick learner with a proactive, commercially minded and solution-oriented approach.
• Comfortable challenging assumptions and providing data-driven recommendations.
• Motivated to contribute to long-term business growth and performance.
