Growing healthcare company with a great collaborative team is seeking an Senior Accountant to support the Controller, CPA and CFO. The Senior Accountant will work on-site in Brooklyn, NY 11221. This great opportunity offers growth and leadership.
The compensation range depends on experience up to 120K with bonus and benefits.
The ideal Senior Accountant holds the following:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting , strong understanding of debits/credits5+ years; responsible for preparing month end close, cash management, bank reconciliations, support AP/AR/Payroll teams, journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, reconcile intercompany accounts, monthly GAAP financial statements, assist with audit, and reporting, review payroll/taxes,Knowledge of QuickBooks – plusNursing home/healthcare industry is a plus but not a mustMust be able to work on-site in Brooklyn.
(City Bus and J-Train options available). Street parking is available.
The day to day responsibilities are as follows but not limited to :Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Perform daily cash management activities, including monitoring cash positions, forecasting cash needs, and coordinating intercompany transfers.
Prepare and review bank reconciliations while researching and resolving outstanding reconciling items.
Work closely with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, and Payroll teams to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reflected in the monthly financial statements.
Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Analyze income statement and balance sheet variances and provide explanations to management.
Reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure all entities are in balance prior to financial close.
Prepare monthly GAAP financial statementsAssist with annual financial statement audits, lender reporting, and regulatory reporting.
Review payroll, benefits, provider taxes, and other healthcare-specific expenses for accuracy.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and automate manual tasks.
Collaborate with corporate leadership and facility operations to resolve accounting issues and support strategic financial initiatives.
Mentor junior accounting staff and assist with training and process improvements.
