Accounting Office Manager

My client is a family-owned General Contractor with beautiful offices in North Dallas with around 25 employees and $40m annual revenue.

About the Role

This role reports directly to the President and combines hands on accounting with running the office. It is a broad role and a trusted one. Good for an Accountant who wants to own the finance function end to end, or someone who has had enough of corporate layers and wants a secure, long term role in a well run, much loved business.

Responsibilities

• Track project costs against budget, analyze backlog and produce WIP reports reviewed monthly with the President.
• Manage month end and year end close.
• Produce P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and WIP statements.
• Forecast cash needs and move funds between accounts to balance liquidity against interest earned.
• Ensure GAAP, employee benefit and lien waiver compliance.
• Coordinate annual audits for insurance, bonds, tax and benefits.
• Run AP and AR, process monthly pay applications and manage subcontractor invoices.
• Build policies to prevent fraud, flag risks to the President and reconcile credit cards.
• Handle employee benefits, onboarding, offboarding, vacation tracking, expense reports, the employee handbook and IT coordination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive accounting experience
• Bookkeeper/Snr Accountant/Controller experience at a General Contractor
• Working knowledge of Sage
• Bachelor's degree, Accounting or Finance preferred
