Position Overview

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the company’s financial operations across a multi-branch distribution environment.

This role provides leadership in the monthly close process, financial analysis, and compliance, while partnering cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership to support data-driven decision-making and scalable growth. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in strengthening financial discipline, improving processes, and supporting AlarMax’s continued expansion.

Primary Responsibilities

• 1. Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Perform variance analysis and provide insights to leadership Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP Support management reporting and business performance analysis
• 2. General Ledger & Close Process Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes Maintain supporting schedules and documentation Ensuretimelyandaccuratefinancial reporting
• 3. Audit & Compliance Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies Assistin implementation of audit recommendations
• 4. Budgeting & Forecasting Assistwith annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes Analyze financial trends and support planning initiatives Partner with branch and operational leaders to align financial goals
• 5. Process Improvement & Systems Identifyand implement improvements in accounting processes and workflows Support ERP system enhancements and optimization Improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations
• 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership Collaborate with operations, sales, and leadership teams Providefinancial insights to support business decisions Mentor and review work of staff accountants as needed Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement

• Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required) 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience in distribution, wholesale, or multi-location environments preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) Experience with ERP/accounting systems
