Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Staff Accountant role based in Benbrook, TX. The Staff Accountant will perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing accounts payable and receivable, posting journal entries, reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities.

The role will support preparation of financial statements and reports, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Staff Accountant will also assist with budgeting, audit support, and special projects, collaborate with internal departments, and respond to routine financial inquiries from leadership and external partners.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in core accounting functions such as general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Strong skills in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including working with spreadsheets, formulas, and financial data analysis.
• Ability to interpret and apply standard accounting principles, internal controls, and relevant regulations or policies.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and three (3) to of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Prior experience in a governmental, public sector, or utilities environment is beneficial but not required.
