LHH is partnering with a well-established and growing Credit Union in Livermore to identify a talented Senior Accountant for a direct hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation along with banking, credit union, or financial services industry experience. This is a highly visible role that partners closely with leadership and supports key financial reporting, reconciliations, regulatory compliance, and month-end close activities.
What You'll Do
- Manage general ledger accounting and ensure the accuracy of financial records
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform account reconciliations, including cash, investments, and balance sheet accounts
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Support regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP, NCUA, and financial industry standards
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to support business decisions
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of financial transactions
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Required: Prior experience within a credit union, bank, mortgage company, wealth management firm, or other financial services organization
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial institution accounting principles
- Experience preparing financial statements and performing account reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
- Experience with core banking systems, financial institution software, or ERP platforms preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
