General Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager to lead our Dessert Cafe with energy and vision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of store management, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and team development.

Your leadership will drive sales growth, optimize merchandising strategies, and foster a positive environment that motivates staff to deliver their best every day. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning, high sales performance, and outstanding customer experiences.
• Oversee recruiting efforts, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new team members to build a motivated and skilled workforce.
• Supervise staff performance through coaching, mentoring, and conducting regular evaluations; promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Oversee inventory purchasing, pricing strategies, and stock management to meet sales targets while minimizing losses.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, cash handling procedures, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations.
• Foster strong customer relationships through excellent service standards; handle escalated issues with professionalism and care.
• Coordinate marketing initiatives and promotional activities to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
• Maintain organized administrative records including bookkeeping, sales reports, and employee schedules; utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.

Qualifications

• Proven supervising experience in retail management or store leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of retail sales techniques, merchandising principles, pricing strategies, and POS systems.
• Excellent communication skills in both bilingual settings; multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Demonstrated ability in team management, training & development, recruiting, and leadership.
• Proficiency in budgeting, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and administrative tasks.
• Solid organizational skills with keen attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
• Experience in negotiating with vendors or suppliers is advantageous.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Strong math skills for inventory control and financial analysis; excellent time management abilities are essential.
