Job Summary

The Accounting Analyst II will provide accounting and finance coverage for all WM Area Finance/Accounting teams and Corporate Finance/Accounting departments (i.e. finance, accounting, internal audit, treasury). The analyst will be assigned to support projects and assignments across a variety of Finance functions.II.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Executes moderately complex financial tasks in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.
• Performs month-end close activities for assigned areas of responsibility including preparing journal entries of low to high complexity.
• Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy;
• Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and adequately document conclusions.
• Analyzes monthly financial results; able to communicate trends in results and provide meaningful insights into the results.
• Displays critical thinking skills in preparation of analyses.
• Collects and analyze financial data and prepare monthly combined financial statements and reports.
• Coordinate preparation of monthly financial package and reviews for accuracy.
• Assists with evaluating, documenting, and concluding on the accounting consequences of potential transactions.
• Participates in monthly financial review meetings.
• Provides guidance to other Finance personnel for proper internal and external financial accounting procedures and their application.
• Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
• Execute internal controls responsibilities timely and accurately.III.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years or relevant work experience 3 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement)
