Business Development Manager - Education, Care and Public Sector

Exciting new opportunity at Nicol Hughes - we are looking for a Business Development Manager with experience in Tender procurement and processing to spearhead the drive for new sales growth.

As Business Development Manager at Nicol Hughes Foodservice, you will be responsible for new sales growth with a focus on the cost sector including luxury care homes, universities and schools. Your primary goal will be to drive sales and build strong customer relationships to maximise revenue opportunities.

We are the North West’s leading Independent Foodservice supplier established in Chester and now part of The Caterfood Buying Group, who provide a 7 day delivery service throughout North Wales and the North West. We pride ourselves on delivering quality products, value, convenience with exceptional customer service, whilst retaining the personal touch.

Location: Home / Field based covering the North West of England & North Wales

Salary: £36,000 (65k OTE) + Company Car

Role Essentials

• Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with new accounts to ensure mutual profitability and long-term partnerships.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and grow market share.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing and product development, to deliver customised solutions that meet the unique needs of our potential customers.
• Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to stay informed with market developments and adjust strategies accordingly.

Who we’re looking for

• Experience in tender procurement and processing.
• You must have a real passion for food and the ability to deliver new and innovative food solutions
• Proven track record of success selling foodservice solutions to the public and institutional sectors. (for example Schools/Education, Healthcare, Instituational Catering)
• A dynamic and motivated team player with strong communication and negotiation skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans, drive sales and margin growth
• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
