App Marketing Manager - Whisky Industry

The Role

You will be responsible for growing App's user base, increasing app downloads, improving user activation and converting free users into paid members.

This is not a general brand-marketing position. We need someone who understands how to market a mobile app through performance advertising, content, influencers, partnerships and app-store optimisation.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable marketing to whisky enthusiasts, collectors, investors, bargain hunters, retailers, bars and industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities

App Growth and User Acquisition

• Develop and execute strategies to increase app downloads and registrations.
• Manage paid advertising across Google, Meta, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and other relevant platforms.
• Create targeted campaigns for different user groups, including whisky collectors, drinkers, investors, retailers and private sellers.
• Monitor cost per install, cost per registration, customer-acquisition cost and return on advertising spend.
• Test different advertisements, audiences, messages, landing pages and promotional offers.
• Retarget website visitors, inactive users and people who downloaded the app but did not register or subscribe.

Ideal Candidate

• At least 3 years of experience in mobile-app marketing, digital marketing, performance advertising or user acquisition.
• Proven experience generating app downloads and measurable user growth.
• Strong knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads and social-media advertising.
• Experience with app-store optimisation and mobile-app analytics.
• Able to create and manage performance-marketing budgets.
• Comfortable analysing campaign data and making commercial decisions.
• Strong copywriting and content-planning ability.
• Able to explain technical app functions in a simple and attractive way.
• Experience working with designers, developers, influencers and external agencies.
• Commercially minded, hands-on and comfortable working in a growing business.

Whisky Knowledge

Knowledge of whisky is highly preferred.

The successful candidate should understand, or be willing to learn:

• How whisky enthusiasts discover and purchase bottles.
• The difference between drinkers, collectors, investors and traders.
• Whisky valuations, auctions and secondary-market pricing.
• Independent bottlers, official bottlings, vintages, age statements and cask types.
• Whisky reviews, ratings and tasting notes.
• The importance of authenticity, rarity, provenance and market demand.
• How whisky communities communicate through private groups, social media, tastings and events.

Candidates with experience in whisky, wine, spirits, luxury goods, collectibles, auctions or premium lifestyle products will have an advantage.
