We are seeking an experienced Senior Technology Project Manager – Cybersecurity to lead the delivery of complex enterprise technology and cybersecurity initiatives within a highly regulated financial services environment.
This role is responsible for managing multiple large-scale projects across the cybersecurity portfolio, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution while supporting strategic, regulatory, and risk management objectives.
The ideal candidate has a strong background leading enterprise technology projects within banking or financial services and is comfortable working across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies. This position requires exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with the ability to drive complex initiatives from planning through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide technology and cybersecurity initiatives from project initiation through implementation.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, resource forecasts, dependencies, and delivery roadmaps.
- Coordinate execution across technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, business, and vendor teams.
- Identify, track, and manage cross-functional dependencies while ensuring projects remain on schedule.
- Provide executive-level status reporting, including project health, accomplishments, risks, issues, dependencies, and recommended actions.
- Facilitate governance meetings, steering committees, executive reviews, and stakeholder discussions.
- Establish and maintain RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, and Decisions) management processes.
- Proactively identify, assess, escalate, and mitigate project delivery risks, operational risks, regulatory impacts, and control-related issues.
- Partner with Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Compliance, and Audit teams to support governance, remediation efforts, and regulatory expectations.
- Translate strategic cybersecurity initiatives and regulatory commitments into detailed, executable project plans.
- Monitor project performance, delivery metrics, resource utilization, and overall project health.
- Maintain comprehensive, audit-ready project documentation, including project plans, RAID logs, dependency trackers, decision logs, status reports, meeting minutes, and governance materials.
- Champion disciplined project management practices, change management, and operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of project or program management experience leading complex enterprise technology initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience delivering projects within the banking or financial services industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale technology transformation initiatives with significant cross-functional dependencies.
- Strong experience developing and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules, dependency management processes, and executive reporting.
- Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority and effectively lead matrixed teams.
- Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project delivery environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading cybersecurity initiatives involving areas such as: Security transformation, Vulnerability management, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Cloud security, Cyber resiliency, Data protection, Security operations, Application security, Regulatory remediation
- Understanding of cybersecurity governance, controls, risk management, and regulatory environments.
- PMP, Agile certification, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience partnering with Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, or Regulatory Affairs teams within a financial institution.
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, remediation efforts, or risk reduction initiatives.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint.
