Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with a variety of small business and individual clients while gaining experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation.

The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly bookkeeping and accounting records for multiple clients
Process payroll and payroll tax filings
Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts
Prepare financial statements and management reports
Assist with individual, partnership, corporate, and trust tax return preparation
Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting and tax matters
Maintain accurate client records and documentation
Assist with sales tax, franchise tax, and other compliance filings
Support partners and senior staff with special projects as needed

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, or public accounting experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop required
Experience with payroll processing preferred
Tax preparation experience preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

Public accounting experience
Accounting degree or related coursework
Experience preparing business and individual tax returns
Experience with payroll and sales tax reporting
